Compliance and Enforcement Officer Salanieta Marama has told the court that accused Ginna Choi was escorted to Lot 134 Rewa Street on September 23rd, 2025, as part of the Rewa Street and Flagstaff drug raid investigation.
During the hearing, Marama said that when they arrived at the property, she and another female officer escorted Choi around the house alongside police and K9 officers as they searched for cash and illicit drugs.
When questioned by State lawyer, Eoghn Samisoni about Choi's behaviour, Marama said Choi was not answering questions.
She also recalled Choi looking at another foreign national at the property, whom Choi identified as her cousin from Palau.
Marama told the court that after the search, Choi was taken to the Immigration Office, where her supervisor questioned her.
She says Choi initially claimed she did not know the people living at Lot 134 Rewa Street but later said she was friends with them.
When asked to describe Choi's behaviour and reaction, Marama said Choi appeared lost and guilty because she did not want to answer questions.
During cross-examination, defence lawyer Jerry Dinati suggested that police officers were already halfway through the search when Marama arrived with Choi.
Marama disagreed, maintaining that she and Choi entered the property at the same time as the police.
Marama also testified that police officers cautioned Choi before questioning her.
She further says that at the Immigration Office, her supervisor also cautioned Choi not to mislead investigators.
The hearing continues.
