Around 650 people in Fiji who have lost their limbs are expected to regain their mobility through the Jaipur Foot Camp being organised with support from the Government of India.
Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Suneet Mehta says the camp will provide custom-fitted artificial limbs to amputees, helping them restore movement and carry out daily activities with greater independence.
He says the camp will be held in October and November in Suva, Nadi and Labasa, allowing people who have suffered amputations to receive artificial limbs.

Mehta says the camp will be conducted in partnership with Fiji’s Ministry of Health.
He says the materials required for the camp are already on their way to Fiji, and preparations will begin once the consignment arrives, is cleared and is ready for use.
The High Commissioner says the Jaipur Foot Camp is another symbol of India’s support in Fiji’s healthcare sector and reflects the strong development partnership between the two countries.
