The two men charged in relation to the alleged rape and murder of an 18-year-old woman in December 2025 have pleaded not guilty in the Lautoka High Court.
Tevita Tora and Laveni Vuebeti are each charged with one count of rape and one count of murder.
The State informed the court that there are admissions in the caution interviews and they will be relying on them.
Tora's counsel informed the court that they are not challenging the admissions. However, Vuebeti’s lawyer wants to review the transcribed caution interview before confirming their position.
The matter was adjourned to 12th October, and both accused have been further remanded in custody.
It is alleged that on 4th December 2025, the two men raped and murdered the woman.
The woman was found lying motionless in a park in Lautoka.
