The spirit of sisterhood was on full display today as Saint Joseph’s Secondary School alumnae gathered for a Pacific Market Day featuring food, handicrafts, island wear and entertainment.
The SJSS Alumnae Pacific Market Day was held at the school hall as part of the school’s 70th anniversary celebrations, bringing together former students, current students, families and supporters.
The event provided an opportunity for alumnae to reconnect with old friends and share memories from their years at the school.
Among those running a stall was Roslyn Lee, a member of the Class of 1976 and President of the SJSS Alumnae in Australia.
Lee says it is wonderful to return to Fiji and reconnect with friends she has not seen for many years.

The Australian alumnae also supported the Market Day through the “Aussie Lucky Dip”, with items available for $5 and $10.
Lee thanked alumnae in Australia for donating items and local Fiji-based alumnae for coming out to support the initiative.
She is encouraging SJSS alumnae living in Australia to get in touch and stay connected.
Lee also reminded current students that the alumnae are there to support them and encouraged them to give back to their communities once they leave school.
The 70th anniversary celebrations will conclude tonight with the Pacific Elegance Ball, which will begin at 6pm at the Vodafone Arena.
