Manchester City have agreed to pay a joint-British record transfer fee of £125 million (FJD $371 million) for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
The two clubs have been negotiating over the past 24 hours and have now reached an agreement for the 25-year-old Argentina international.
Fernandez will undergo a medical before signing a long-term deal with City, with personal terms not expected to be an issue.
He joined Chelsea from Benfica in 2023 for a then-British record £107 million (FJD $318 million).
Chelsea had hoped to keep Fernandez earlier this summer, but the midfielder had been pushing to leave the club since March.
Fernandez had been targeting a move to Real Madrid, but the Spanish club later ruled out making an offer.
This is the second time City have broken their own transfer record this summer after signing Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £116 million (FJD $345 million).
Fernandez will also become the fourth player to move to a Premier League club for at least £100 million (FJD $297 million) this summer.
