Assistant Minister for Public Works and Transport, Naisa Tuinaceva says he will follow up with the Fiji Roads Authority on the proposed bridge at the Sote Village crossing towards Namalata, as students have to cross the river daily to get to school.
When fijivillage News raised the issue, Tuinaceva says the road and water concerns raised by the Namalata district representative are also being looked into.
Tuinaceva says the Namalata district representative also raised concerns about several other areas that require attention, and these will be looked into.
Meanwhile, he says one of the issues raised was the condition of the road to Matacaucau, and they had committed to addressing it through FRA.
Tuinaceva says FRA carried out work on the road the very next day.
He says when complaints and concerns are raised, FRA considers them alongside its normal programme of works.
He says issues raised at the Tikina level and then at the provincial level are normally discussed with relevant government agencies, particularly FRA.
Tuinaceva believes scoping work for the proposed project may have already been carried out and says work should begin once everything is ready.
