Two stand-up paddlers are travelling more than 500 kilometres around Viti Levu, carrying a powerful message of hope, ecological guardianship, ocean conservation and urgent climate action.
Their journey was launched in Suva on the 1st of this month when they left Suva Point.
The Liaison Officer for the two paddlers, Elia Satini, says that during their stop at Sheraton Fiji, the paddlers will be welcomed by the resort and taken on a tour of the proposed pre-COP31 venue, followed by refreshments before they continue their journey by sea towards Vuda Marina.
He says the weather has been rough, but the paddlers are managing so far.

The initiative is organised by the Pacific Conference of Churches and Suva SUPers and supported by Fiji’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme through the Pacific Ocean Litter Project.
The paddlers have been out at sea for the last 9 days stopping every 2 hours at various locations like Veisari, Navua and Lomawai with another stop in Vuda today.
They are expected to finish the trip by the 20th of this month.
