Remand extended for four Police officers over 2024 assault case
The Suva Magistrates Court has extended the remand warrant for the four police officers allegedly involved in an assault case from 2024 and they will appear in the Suva High Court next Friday.

The four are Sevanaia Sedra, Kurt Yee, Jonathan Whippy and Ponipate Domolailai.

It is alleged they questioned the victim, Jone Ledua, after he caused a disturbance at a barbecue stall on the morning of 25th August 2024.

It is further alleged that Ledua was assaulted following the questioning.

The four appeared before Magistrate Sufi Hamza this morning.

They are charged with intent to cause grievous harm.

Sedra is also charged with the theft of Ledua's Samsung A35 phone, Adidas jacket and $200 in cash.
