Defending Lutubula Trophy champions Queen Victoria School (QVS) will face Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) in the Vodafone Deans Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Union U18 semi-finals this weekend.
The Lutubula Trophy, once the hallmark of dominance among Eastern Zone rugby powerhouses such as QVS, RKS and Lelean Memorial School, forms part of the qualification pathway for schools aiming to reach the Vodafone Deans competition.

Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Union Association Secretary Epeli Kalou says if QVS loses to RKS this weekend, a new Lutubula Trophy holder will be crowned in the final. However, if QVS successfully defends the trophy, another challenge will be held during next week's final.
Kalou says Lelean Memorial School is the favourite in the U18 grade, having remained unbeaten throughout the competition with victories over both RKS and QVS.
He adds that it will be an exciting weekend of rugby, with both QVS and RKS determined to avoid dropping into the elimination bracket.

Kalou also says this week's semi-finals will be played at St Vincent College Ground in Natovi.
He says the venue was chosen to help reduce travel expenses for St John's College while also providing a neutral venue for all four semi-finalists.
