New Caledonia international and championship-winning winger Pierre Iekawe has joined Extra Bula FC ahead of the 2027 OFC Professional League season.

The 29-year-old attacking winger joins the Bula Warriors after winning back-to-back New Caledonia Super Ligue titles with Tiga Sport in 2024 and 2025.

Iekawe says joining Fiji's first professional football club is an important step in his career, and he is ready to work hard and give his best for the team.

He says it is an immense source of pride for him, and although he still has a lot to learn, he is determined to improve and contribute to the club's success.

Iekawe previously played for AS Wetr in New Caledonia during the 2018 and 2019 seasons before moving to France, where he represented Montreuil Juignée Béné Football from 2021 to 2023.

He was part of the team that won the Régional 3 championship in 2022, earning promotion to Régional 2.

After returning to New Caledonia, Iekawe joined Tiga Sport and helped the club win consecutive Super Ligue titles.

He also featured in the club's OFC Champions League campaigns in 2025 and 2026, including their run to the 2025 semifinals, where they lost 1-0 to Hekari FC.

The winger has also represented New Caledonia in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches and regional competitions.

He featured in the 2026 MSG Prime Minister's Cup in Fiji, where he played against several players who will now become his teammates at Extra Bula FC.

Iekawe says he was impressed with the standard of Fijian football, particularly the physical and technical qualities of the players.

He says he is excited to play alongside his former opponents and work together to help the club succeed.

Iekawe describes himself as a winger who enjoys using his speed, taking on defenders and creating scoring opportunities.

He says Extra Bula FC's vision and the opportunity to work under Head Coach Stéphane Auvray were important factors in his decision to join the club.

Iekawe says his main goals are to adapt to professional football, continue improving and contribute goals and assists to help the team achieve success.

He is also looking forward to meeting his new teammates, experiencing Fijian culture and connecting with the club's supporters.

He will join the Bula Warriors in December for pre-season preparations ahead of the 2027 OFC Professional League season, which kicks off on January 23rd, 2027.
