The Nadi Town Council has installed CCTV surveillance cameras at strategic entry and exit points into Nadi Town to strengthen security and improve public safety.
The Council says the initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to improve security, strengthen monitoring capabilities and create a safer environment for residents, businesses and visitors.
It says the newly installed cameras will monitor vehicle and pedestrian movements at key entrances and exits to help deter criminal activities, support investigations and improve overall town management.
The Council says the new cameras have been integrated into its existing CCTV network, which is directly linked to the Fiji Police Force's 24-hour monitoring and surveillance operations.
It says this partnership will allow continuous monitoring and support a quicker response to security incidents when required.
The Council says Nadi is one of Fiji's busiest commercial and tourism hubs and continues to experience significant growth in vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
It adds that investing in modern surveillance technology is part of its efforts to safeguard the community while maintaining a secure environment for businesses, tourism and investment.
The Council says it remains committed to strengthening public safety, improving municipal services and building confidence within the community.
