Tears filled the King of Tonga’s eyes as he left Tae Kami’s family home after an emotional meeting with her while she battled terminal cancer, just weeks before his coronation.
This was highlighted by WOWS Kids co-founders Taholo Kami and Sina Kami during Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan.
Taholo says Tae believed the King’s unexpected visit was the reason she was still alive, so she could meet the King of Tonga before meeting the King of Kings.

Tae's Father shares despite being in severe pain that day, Tae was determined to perform a song for the King as she took the time to tune her guitar before telling the King she could not attend his coronation but wanted to give him the song as her present.
Taholo says the moment was significant because it showed the human side of the new King and his connection with the people of Tonga.
He says Tae’s condition had deteriorated in her final weeks, with severe waves of pain requiring strong medication.
He says music became one of the ways they helped her through the pain, with Tae sometimes simply asking him to sing.
