The Fijian Drua has signed talented Queen Victoria School fly-half and sprinter Jone Raibevu to the Club's Development Squad, marking another success story for the Drua's grassroots talent pathway through the Drua Foundation.

Raibevu joins the Development Programme after progressing through the Club's junior development pathway.

Drua says he was first identified through the Drua Foundation's talent identification programme in 2024, with his elevation highlighting the Foundation's ongoing commitment to discovering, developing and supporting Fiji's next generation of rugby talent.

They say his signing will help strengthen rugby development across the country.

The Drua Foundation works alongside the Fiji Rugby Union and the Fijian Drua to identify promising young players, provide access to high-quality coaching and development opportunities, and help remove barriers for talented athletes from communities across Fiji.

Raibevu says he was really surprised when he got the call about the opportunity and he was also excited when the Drua committee told him that he would be joining the Drua Development next season.

The Kalabu, Naitasiri youngster first caught national attention during the 2024 Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Eastern Zone competition with a series of standout performances.

Later that year, he earned selection into the inaugural Fijian Drua Junior Development Programme, where he trained under Drua coaches in a high-performance environment alongside some of Fiji's most promising young players.

Drua says apart from rugby, Raibevu has also excelled in athletics.

The Queen Victoria School student is one of the school's leading sprinters and claimed the prestigious Blue Ribbon title at the Tailevu Zone Athletics Championships, showcasing the speed and athleticism that have made him one of Fiji's most exciting young sporting prospects.

Fijian Drua CEO Jeff Miller welcomed Raibevu to the Club's development system.

He says his signing is another great example of what can be achieved when the Fiji Rugby Union and the Drua invest in identifying and developing young Fijian talent from an early age.

Miller says Raibevu is an exciting young player with a strong skill set, excellent game awareness, and outstanding athletic ability.

Drua says they are delighted to welcome him into their Development Programme and look forward to supporting his growth both on and off the field.

Raibevu becomes the latest young player to graduate through the club's development pathway and will now continue his rugby journey within the Fijian Drua environment as he works towards higher honours in the years ahead.
