The Fiji Bati will need to beat New Zealand this Saturday to keep their semi-final hopes alive at the Rugby League World Cup.

The Bati will face New Zealand at 4.30pm at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast in a crucial Pool A match.

Australia currently leads the men's Pool A standings with four points, followed by New Zealand in second place with two points and Fiji in third, also with two points.

The Cook Islands sit fourth after playing two matches without recording a win.

In the men's Pools B and C standings, Samoa leads with four points after winning both matches, while Tonga also has four points.

England and Papua New Guinea have two points each, while Lebanon and France are yet to record a point.

Vodafone Fiji Bati star Kurt Donoghoe believes the performance of Fiji's forwards against Australia last Sunday proves they can match New Zealand's powerful pack in Saturday's must-win Rugby League World Cup clash

In the women's competition, Australia leads Pool A with four points, followed by Samoa and England, who have two points each, while Wales is yet to register a point.

In Pool B, New Zealand is leading with 2 points, Fiji in second with two points, then Papua New Guinea with one point.

France comes in at fourth who have yet to get points.
