Students sitting the 2026 national external examinations have been encouraged to remain confident and focused, with Education Minister Aseri Radrodro reminding them that examination results do not define their future.
Speaking at the 2026 Ministry of Education External Examination Dedication Service, Radrodro emphasised that students should trust in their preparation, manage their time wisely and give their best effort.
A total of 19,141 Year 8 students will sit the Fiji Year 8 Certificate Examination from 6th to 8th October at 718 centres.
8,561 Year 13 students will sit the Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination from 27th October to 6th November at 174 centres, while 12,388 Year 12 students will sit their examinations from 11th to 23rd November at 177 centres.
Radrodro says the national target for the 2026 external examinations is a 97 percent pass rate.
However, he reminded students that their character, discipline, perseverance and ability to overcome challenges are equally important.
He reminded students to enter the examination room with confidence, read each question carefully, manage their time and do not give up when they come across a difficult question.
He also acknowledged teachers, parents and guardians for their continued support and encouraged them to provide students with patience, guidance and reassurance during the examination period.
Radrodro says the dedication service was an opportunity to bring together faith, education and family as students prepare for their examinations.
He wished all students well and encouraged them to approach their examinations with confidence, courage and peace.
