Four people accused of attempting to murder a 61-year-old man and kidnapping a 20-year-old woman will take their pleas on September 28th in the Lautoka High Court.
Artika Sharma, Ajay Kumar, Ravinal Anand and Sanjay Kumar appeared before the Lautoka High Court earlier this week, charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping, one count of assault causing actual bodily harm, and one count of damaging property.
It is alleged that on February 25th, they attempted to murder the 61-year-old man after he intervened to save the young woman from being kidnapped.
The accused were initially charged with acts intended to cause grievous harm. However, following a review of the evidence, the charge was upgraded to attempted murder.
The State had earlier filed the Information and disclosures.
Their bail has been further extended.
