The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua sent a strong message ahead of the Super Rugby Pacific season with a commanding 78–12 win over Skipper Select in the Sunbell Trophy clash at Churchill Park in Lautoka this afternoon.

From the opening whistle, the Drua were in full control, combining speed, structure and ruthless finishing to dominate the game.

The Drua forwards laid the foundation with powerful carries and solid set-piece work, while the backs found space out wide to run in a series of dazzling tries.

Skipper Select managed to cross for two tries but struggled to contain the Drua’s relentless attack, with defensive gaps proving costly.

The 78-point win gives the Drua a major confidence boost as they now turn their focus to Moana Pasifika next Saturday, marking their first Super Rugby Pacific match of the season at Churchill Park.
