A father of three is appealing for assistance in raising funds for his medical expenses after a tree fell on his back while he was working on his farm in Solodamu Village, Tavuki, Kadavu, eight years ago, leaving him unable to walk.
Speaking to fijivillage News from Solodamu Village, 45-year-old Josama Charles Tuituba says the incident changed his life and the lives of his family members.
He says despite the challenges he faces every day, he has never given up hope.
Tuituba says his wife has continued to support their family through their small voivoi business.
He adds that his wife works tirelessly to harvest and dry pandanus leaves, weave mats for sale, care for their children and manage the household.
He further adds that life has not been easy for them, but they continue to do their best with what they have.
Tuituba says he is seeking assistance to raise about $1,000 for his treatment at Vuda Traditional Medical Clinic and other associated medical expenses.
He says as a father, he wants to continue doing his best for his wife and children.
However, he says raising this amount on their own is a major challenge for his family.
The father of three says any contribution, no matter how small, would mean a lot to his family.
He adds that he may be facing challenges he never expected in life, but he still believes that with faith, determination and the support of kind-hearted people, there is always hope.
