Communications Fiji Limited News Director Vijay Narayan and Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong

Permanent Secretary for Health, Doctor James Fong says we are at the escalating phase of COVID-19 cases in the Central Division and Nausori.

While speaking on Straight Talk With Vijay Narayan, Doctor Fong says based on this, the Health Ministry with other government agencies will do targeted area lockdowns like the one done in Qauia Settlement in Lami.

He says they can contain the cases through the targeted area lockdowns.

Doctor Fong says they are also facing issues where people are staying in crowded areas.

He says people also need more than rations during a lockdown and all these issues are always considered with all the government agencies.
