Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is encouraging parents not to stress too much about their children’s school uniforms as affected students can attend school in non-uniform attire.

Bainimarama highlighted this during his three days tour of the Northern Division where he visited the islands of Kia, Galoa, Tavea and Yaqaga in the provinces of Bua and Macuata.

He says the children who endured TC Yasa's trauma will see their communities grow stronger before their eyes.

The Prime Minister visited some of the cyclone affected schools to see the setup of UNICEF-supported temporary learning spaces and the provision of stationery and teaching materials so children can return to school tomorrow.

195,883 students will start school from tomorrow while 13,099 teachers will return to school today.

5,794 children will begin their formal learning journey as they have enrolled at Early Childhood Education Centres for the first time.
