91-year-old fish seller says staying active is the secret to a long life

At 91 years old, Joji Rosinitoba Kean continues to sell fresh fish, a business he has been involved in for more than 20 years.

He says staying active and maintaining a positive outlook on life have helped him remain strong.

Kean, who is from Nakasaleka, Kadavu, says he is grateful to God for giving him the health and strength to continue working despite his age.

He says while he experiences body aches, his faith has carried him through the years.

The 91-year-old says he is also thankful for the support of his six children, who help him with his fish-selling business.

Kean says his focus is to enjoy life and remain happy, adding that no one knows when their time will come.

Reflecting on the past, he says Fiji has changed significantly over the years and believes people no longer value life the way they once did.

He says the different jobs he held when he was younger taught him the importance of hard work, time management, and appreciating life.

Kean worked for Reddy Construction in Samabula for 29 years before returning to Kadavu, where he started farming kava.

He also shared a message for young people, saying they are fortunate to have access to free education, but many do not take the opportunity seriously.

Kean says education is the key to success, while ignorance leads to failure.
