Police questioning of sports chairman on hold after he falls sick
Police questioning of a sports chairman over a sexual harassment complaint is currently on hold after he fell ill following an interview with the Criminal Investigations Department.

The chairman was interviewed by CID officers as part of the ongoing investigation and this has been confirmed by Police to fijivillage News.

Police say he became unwell during the process and was given time to seek medical attention.

The chairman subsequently produced a medical certificate to investigators.

Police say further questioning will take place once he is medically cleared to continue with the investigation.

The case remains under investigation, and police have not disclosed further details about the complaint.

Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre Coordinator Shamima Ali has also informed fijiVillage News that the Centre is following up with the Fiji Police Force and is seeking an outcome from the investigation.

The Sporting Board says it will await the outcome of the police investigation and will comment on the matter once police have completed their investigations.
