Erling Haaland scored a double as Norway has qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Senegal in their Group I clash.

Marcus Pedersen gave Norway the lead in the 43rd minute before Haaland struck twice in the second half, scoring in the 48th and 58th minutes to put his side firmly in control.

Haaland has scored four of Norway's seven goals at the FIFA World Cup 2026 so far.

Senegal responded through Ismaila Sarr, who found the net in the 53rd minute and again in stoppage time, but the comeback fell short as Norway held on for all three points.

Norway are ranked 39th in the latest FIFA World Rankings and are making their fourth FIFA World Cup appearance. Their best finish came in 1998 when they reached the Round of 16.

Senegal, ranked 19th in the world, are appearing in their fourth FIFA World Cup. Their best result came in 2022 when they also advanced to the Round of 16.

The victory sees Norway qualify for the Round of 32 alongside France, who earlier defeated Iraq 3-0 to secure their place in the knockout stage.

Norway will conclude their Group I campaign against France next Saturday at 7am, while Senegal will take on Iraq at the same time.

In other matches, Argentina defeated Austria 2-nil to also qualify for the Round of 32 while Algeria will face Jordan at 3pm.
