It was a night of glitz and glamour as the 70th Anniversary of the FMF Hibiscus Festival was launched this evening at the Civic Centre where the Queen contestants took centre stage with their sponsors.
Hibiscus Festival Director, Ellen Whippy-Knight says the purpose of this evening was a media launch of the partnership between the contestants and their sponsors.
Whippy-Knight says it is a concept they created last year where the sponsor actually comes up and presents their contestant and vice versa.
She says it was also a very entertaining and a wonderful opportunity to see how the contestants have progressed from the weeks of training prior to this.
The Festival Director says taking the Hibiscus Festival back to Albert Park has been something that everybody in Suva has been looking forward to.
