Speaker says Constitution Avenue parking reserved for MPs, legally within Parliament boundaries

The Speaker of Parliament, Filimone Jitoko, says that the Constitution Avenue parking space is for members of Parliament, and members who use the place have the legal right to do so.

Jitoko highlighted this in Parliament this morning.

Jitoko has clarified that Constitutional Avenue falls within the legal boundaries of Parliament.

Opposition MP Jone Usamate raised concerns that he had parked his vehicle within the Parliament premises but was issued a police ticket for illegal parking.

Commisioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu told fijivillage News today that he has not and seen the comments of the Speaker yet.
