The team gathered at Natabua Junction on Saturday and headed north along Queens Road, collecting rubbish and debris from the roadside during the two-hour clean-up.
They say Queens Road serves as one of the main gateways into Lautoka and is used daily by thousands of residents, visitors and tourists travelling between Lautoka and Nadi International Airport.
The volunteers says keeping the area clean was important as the road contributes to the first impression people have of Lautoka and Fiji’s Western Division.
Armed with gloves and rubbish bags, the volunteers worked along the roadside, collecting approximately 20 large bags of rubbish.
They say it was also aimed at encouraging the community, particularly young people, to take greater responsibility for their surroundings and develop habits that contribute to a cleaner environment.
A representative of the organisers, Laisa Ere, says the message was simple when people see this road clean, they want them to feel positive energy.
The team says it also hopes to work alongside residents and community groups in future activities to encourage a stronger sense of responsibility and pride in Lautoka.
The volunteers believe keeping the city clean should be a shared responsibility and that small individual efforts can contribute to a wider change across the community.
The Shincheonji Volunteer Team has previously carried out street clean-up activities in Lautoka and says it remains committed to supporting the local community through volunteer work.
The team thanked everyone who contributed their time and effort to the clean-up and encouraged more residents, young people and community groups to participate in similar activities in the future.
The volunteers said a cleaner and greener Lautoka can be achieved when the community works together, one street and one small action at a time.
