Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji, the largest Hindu organisation in Fiji representing more than 200,000 Sanatan followers, has announced a contribution towards relief efforts for flood victims in Nepal while also recognising the achievements of Captain Sheemal Nand of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, extending Ganesh Utsav greetings, and paying tribute to the Minister for Employment late Agni Deo Singh.
Sabha President Dhirendra Nand says he is deeply saddened by the loss and devastation caused by recent floods in Nepal and had made a donation to assist affected families and communities.
He says Sanatan Dharma teaches us that humanity is one family and when our brothers and sisters suffer, it is our duty to assist in whatever way we can.
Nand says while Fiji and Nepal are geographically distant, we remain connected through our shared values of compassion, service, and humanity.
He expressed hope that relief efforts would bring comfort and support to those affected and offered prayers for the safety and recovery of all impacted communities.
The National President also congratulated Captain Sheemal Nand of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces on her outstanding achievements and service to Fiji.
Nand says Captain Sheemal Nand has demonstrated exceptional dedication, discipline, and leadership.
He says her accomplishments are a source of pride not only for the Hindu community but for the entire nation.
Nand says she serves as a role model for Hindu women and girls throughout Fiji, proving that commitment, education, perseverance, and strong values can lead to success in any profession.
He says they wish her every success in her future endeavors and thank her for her service to our country.
Nand further says that as devotees across Fiji celebrate Ganesh Utsav, they extend warm greetings to all followers of Sanatan Dharma.
He says Lord Ganesha symbolises wisdom, knowledge, prosperity, and the removal of obstacles.
The Sabha says this sacred festival reminds us to strengthen our faith, promote unity within our communities, and dedicate
ourselves to righteous living.
Nand also paid tribute to the late Agni Deo Singh, acknowledging his significant contributions to Fiji's education sector and public life.
He says Singh's passing of is a great loss to Fiji as he dedicated many years of service to the people of our nation and worked tirelessly to improve educational opportunities for future generations.
Nand says his commitment to public service earned him respect across all communities.
He extends their sincere condolences to his family, relatives, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
Nand added that Singh's contributions and legacy would continue to inspire future generations.
He says as we remember his service to Fiji, we pray that his soul attains Sanatan Moksha and that his family finds strength and comfort during this difficult time.
Nand says the four messages conveyed by the Sabha reflect the core principles of Sanatan Dharm: compassion for those in need, recognition of excellence, celebration of faith, and respect for those who have dedicated their lives to serving society.
He says whether they are assisting disaster victims, celebrating the achievements of our people, observing sacred festivals, or honoring those who have contributed to our nation, we are guided by the timeless teachings of Sanatan Dharma.
The Sabha President adds these values continue to unite and strengthen our communities throughout Fiji and beyond.
