Global music stars Shakira and Burna Boy are set to take centre stage at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in Mexico City, adding even more star power to the world's biggest football tournament.

The duo, who recently collaborated on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem, Dai Dai, will perform as part of the tournament's opening celebrations ahead of the first match in Mexico City.

The song has been selected as the official anthem for the expanded 48-team World Cup.

The opening ceremony will take place 90 minutes before the tournament's opening match between Mexico and South Africa at Mexico City Stadium.

The FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, will be held from next Friday until 20th July.
