Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested four more people in connection with Sunday's shooting at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai, India.
The four suspects were arrested in Delhi and Haryana yesterday, following the arrest of three alleged assailants in Kota, Rajasthan, on Monday morning.
Mumbai Police CID has since formally arrested the four suspects after obtaining court approval and secured a three-day transit remand for further investigation.
Police say the three suspects arrested in Rajasthan had been planning to flee to Nepal.
The three allegedly opened fire at Shroff’s car on Sunday evening as he was leaving a club after playing football.
Following the shooting, Mumbai Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Raj Tilak Roshan said around 20 special teams had been formed to investigate the incident.
Police examined CCTV footage and technical evidence to trace the motorcycle allegedly used in the attack and track the suspects’ movements.
While the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, police believe the manner in which the attack was carried out suggests the assailants intended to kill the actor.
Meanwhile, Shroff’s team has warned the public against fake news and AI-generated videos falsely attributed to the actor following the incident.
The team says Shroff has not made any public statements or released videos about the shooting and warns that legal action could be taken against those creating or circulating fabricated content.
