Stratum/PPCL Rewa will be banking on the team’s fighting spirit to give them the strength they need when they take on Dayal’s Steel Ba this afternoon in the final of the Extra Battle of the Giants Tournament in Ba.
Speaking to fijivillage Sports, Assistant Coach Priyant Mannu says the players have continued to fight despite the challenges they have faced and will need the same determination when they take on Ba this afternoon in the final.
He says playing Ba is not a new scenario for the team, as they faced the host side in the pool stages last week and secured a convincing 3-0 victory.
Mannu says the final will come down to how well Rewa controls the game.
The Delta Tigers are nine-time BOG champions and are chasing their 10th title, having last lifted the trophy in 2020.
However, Ba will be looking to turn the tables after beating Rewa 1-0 in their final Extra Premier League match last month.
The Men in Black are the most successful team in BOG history, with 17 titles, and are chasing their first BOG crown since 2018.
Ba are also looking for their third major title this season after winning the BiC Fiji FACT and Extra Premier League.
The final will be played at 3pm at 4R Stadium in Govind Park, Ba.
