Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says he supports the Republic of Fiji Military Forces' call to remove the immunity provisions from the 2013 Constitution.
Speaking to the media after the opening of the Salvation Army Alcohol and Drugs Recovery Centre, Rabuka says he is not protected by the immunity clause because he is free anyway.

In its submission to the Constitution Review Commission, the Republic of Fiji Military Forces recommended that the constitutional immunity provisions be removed.
RFMF Commander Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai says the systemic and institutionalised pattern of political instability that has fractured the nation since 1987 was not merely witnessed by the military but, at times, was built and maintained by its own hands.
He says the RFMF does not make that admission lightly, nor without genuine remorse for the role the institution has played in protecting a system that has fractured the moral soul of the nation.
