Australian-based rugby player Waisea Niumataiwalu is ready to make his mark in the local rugby competition when he suits up for Tailevu as they continue preparations for their Round 9 Skipper Cup clash with Suva this weekend.
Niumataiwalu grew up playing rugby in Australia, where he progressed through the Brumbies pathway before turning out for the Queanbeyan Whites.
The Bau Island native has since returned to Fiji and is now looking forward to representing Tailevu on the domestic rugby stage.
He is determined to play his part as Tailevu chases both the Skipper Cup and the Farebrother Trophy this season.
Niumataiwalu says he is looking forward to experiencing the passion and support of the Tailevu fans as the team prepares for what promises to be an exciting campaign.
With his experience in Australian rugby and his connection to Tailevu, Niumataiwalu will be hoping to make a strong contribution to the side throughout the competition.
Tailevu will host Suva this Saturday at Nakelo at 3pm.
In other matches, Lautoka will meet Taveuni at Wairiki School Grounds, Nadi will meet Malolo at King Charles Park, Ba will take on Rewa at 4R Electric Govind Park, Naitasiri will face Nadroga at Ratu Cakobau Park, and Navosa will meet Kadavu at Lawaqa Park.
All matches will kick off at 3pm.
