Sowane, who is among those celebrating a fun-filled progranme hosted by the 2000 decade cohorts at the Fiji Museum deck, says her years at Saint Joseph’s helped build her confidence and taught her the importance of being accepting of others.
She says returning to the school’s 70th anniversary celebrations has also been an emotional experience, particularly after years apart from many of her school sisters.
Sowane says the reunion has meant a lot to her, especially with many of her former classmates now living overseas.
She says she is grateful to those who made the effort to travel home and be part of the milestone celebration.
Meanwhile, Class of 2013 alumna Ani Naupoto says the reunion gave her the chance to reconnect with her classmates while also catching up with friends from other cohorts.
Naupoto says the presence of former students who travelled from overseas made the occasion even more meaningful.
She says the strong bond shared by Saint Joseph’s alumnae has been evident throughout the week, particularly through the many reunions and interactions shared on social media.
The 2000 decade cohorts hosted the fun-filled programme at the Museum Deck, bringing together generations of former students for a night of music, laughter, cocktails and glamour as they celebrate 70 years of St Joseph’s sisterhood.
Today, the celebrations will reach one of their major highlights with the Pacific Elegance Gala at 6pm at the Vodafone Arena.
The week-long milestone will conclude tomorrow with a Closing Mass at 1pm at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
