Five men have been arrested in separate drug-related cases across Fiji.
A 30-year-old Lautoka man was arrested at Lomolomo Beach yesterday after 177 branches of dried leaves believed to be marijuana, wrapped in aluminium foil, were allegedly found in his possession.
Police also uprooted 1,085 green plants believed to be marijuana from an unknown farm in the Waisagavuna area in Savusavu.
The plants ranged in height from five centimetres to one metre.
Police say four men were arrested in Labasa yesterday after they were allegedly found with a white sack containing loose dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
Police had intercepted their vehicle, and the sack containing the dried leaves was found during a brief search.
Police say it continues its fight against drugs as part of its routine operations and is calling on members of the community for support.
Investigations into the incidents are underway.
