$10,000 heart monitor donated to Labasa Hospital from Vodafone Friendly North Carnival funds
People in the Northern Division will now benefit from a heart monitor machine at Labasa Hospital after it was donated from money raised during the Vodafone Friendly North Carnival.

Carnival President Mohammed Saiyum says providing the machine was one of the committee’s main objectives.

He says the machine cost around $10,000 and was brought in from China.

Saiyum says the machine is of high quality and will benefit people across the Northern Division.

He says the committee moved quickly to set up the machine, just one week after the Vodafone Friendly North Carnival ended.

Saiyum says this means the committee has achieved its first objective within a few days.

He says the committee has also ordered more machines, which are expected to be installed at Seaqaqa Hospital.

Meanwhile, Saiyum says after completing this project, the committee will look at other projects that can benefit people in the North.
