Digital Financial Services Pte Limited (DFS), the operator of Fiji's leading mobile money platform M-PAiSA, has been named a finalist in the highly coveted PayTech of the Year category at the Asia Fintech Awards 2026.
The Asia Fintech Awards recognise excellence, innovation, and impact among the region's leading financial technology providers.
General Manager Digital Financial Services, Shailendra Prasad says being selected as a finalist is a significant achievement for Fiji and a testament to the impact M-PAiSA has made in transforming financial services across the country.
Prasad says it is a proud moment for the team, with the awards attracting submissions from some of the most innovative and highly regarded fintech companies across the region.
He says for M-PAiSA to be recognised as a finalist among such distinguished industry peers is both commendable and a tremendous honour.
Prasad says the nomination demonstrates that a home-grown Fijian digital wallet platform can successfully compete shoulder-to-shoulder with some of Asia's largest and most sophisticated financial technology providers.
He says the recognition validates DFS's vision, investment in innovation, and commitment to delivering accessible financial services to all Fijians.
He says since its launch, M-PAiSA has played a pivotal role in advancing financial inclusion throughout Fiji by providing convenient, secure, and affordable digital financial services to individuals, businesses, and communities across the country.
Prasad says the platform's contribution extends beyond digital payments, helping to create meaningful social and economic impact.
He says DFS is proud that its efforts to improve access to financial services and drive economic participation have been recognised on such a prominent and prestigious regional platform.
He says the nomination reflects DFS's ongoing efforts to expand the digital payments ecosystem in Fiji through innovative solutions that enable customers to transact, save time, and participate more fully in the digital economy.
Prasad says DFS is honoured by the recognition and grateful to its customers, partners and stakeholders who have supported its journey.
He says while being named a finalist is already a significant achievement, the company remains hopeful of securing the ultimate award and bringing the prestigious recognition home to Fiji.
The winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony to be held in Singapore on 21st August.
