BRED Bank and M-PAiSA have strengthened Fiji’s digital payment landscape through a new partnership that enables BRED Bank customers to scan and pay using M-PAiSA QR codes through the BRED Fiji Connect App.
BRED Bank Fiji Chief Executive Officer Pierre Tastet says the partnership reflects a shared vision between two digitally focused financial service providers to make payments simpler, faster and more accessible.
Tastet says customers can now walk into supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, retail outlets and even small corner shops, scan an M-PAiSA QR code and make payments directly from their mobile phones.
He says the service removes the need to carry cash or a physical card, making everyday payments more convenient.

Meanwhile, Vodafone M-PAiSA General Manager Shailendra Prasad says M-PAiSA has invested over the years in building Fiji’s largest QR payment acceptance network, connecting thousands of merchants and users.
Prasad says the partnership will allow BRED Bank customers to make payments at more than 6,500 merchant counters directly through the BRED Fiji Connect App.
He says leveraging M-PAiSA’s existing infrastructure will allow both businesses and customers to benefit from a shared digital payment ecosystem that can expand access more quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively.
