Two new innovative products aimed at supporting environmentally responsible and sustainable building practices has been launched by Dulux as the company marks 40 years of its brand presence in Fiji.
Dulux says the new products reflect its continued focus on innovation and sustainability as it celebrates four decades of providing paint solutions for homes, businesses and communities across Fiji.
Today, Pacific Coatings says it has grown into one of the region’s leading manufacturers, operating two manufacturing facilities, four warehouses and six trade centres while employing more than 100 people.
The anniversary milestone was marked through corporate events at the Grand Pacific Hotel and Crowne Plaza, bringing together customers, business partners, employees and industry stakeholders to reflect on the company’s journey and future plans.
Dulux says while the Dulux brand was introduced to Fiji in 1986, its roots go back to 1968 when British Paints established Fiji’s first paint manufacturing facility, becoming the country’s pioneering paint manufacturer and laying the foundation for the local industry.
The company says a major turning point came in 1986 when ICI Paints acquired British Paints and introduced the globally recognised Dulux brand to the Fijian market.
The company says a new chapter began in 2006 when Pacific Coatings Pte Limited, led by local shareholders Viliame Leqa, Greg Lawlor and Neil Underhill, acquired the business, marking the beginning of a period focused on local ownership, investment and regional expansion.
Dulux says through a strategic supply, trade and technology partnership with Dulux Group Australia, Pacific Coatings has continued to strengthen its manufacturing capability while introducing world-class products and technologies to the Pacific market.
The company says it supplies products to more than eight Pacific Island countries, supporting thousands of customers across the region.
The company says further expansion is underway, with Pacific Coatings acquiring strategic commercial properties in Suva and progressing plans for a new purpose-built manufacturing facility in Lami.
Dulux says the new facility is expected to increase production capacity, improve operational efficiency and create new employment opportunities while supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Speaking on the milestone, Pacific Coatings CEO Roshan Singh says the anniversary represents more than four decades of business success.
Singh says the journey from British Paints to Dulux has been built on innovation, resilience and strong partnerships.
He says the company is proud to be a 100 percent locally owned company that continues to invest in Fiji, its people and the wider Pacific.
Singh says the anniversary celebrates past achievements while reaffirming the company’s commitment to delivering quality products and sustainable solutions for generations to come.
