Ba Town Council Special Administrator Chair Moshim Muktar Khan has been relieved of his responsibilities.
Minister for Local Government, Maciu Katamotu Nalumisa says the decision is effective since last Wednesday and was made under Section 34 of the Local Government Act, following due enquiry and consideration of all relevant information.
Nalumisa says the decision was made after careful consideration and in the interests of maintaining the integrity and credibility of municipal governance.
The two remaining Special Administrators of the Ba Town Council will continue to carry out their responsibilities in accordance with the Local Government Act.
They will also provide the necessary oversight and guidance to the Council’s Chief Executive Officer on the Council’s operations.
The Ministry says residents, ratepayers and stakeholders are assured that the Ba Town Council will continue to operate as normal.
It says there will be no disruption to the delivery of municipal services.
