We will not be able to protect our environment and natural resources unless there is education at home and school, and a change in attitude.

This was highlighted by the Suzuki Fiji Dealership Development Manager Shamal Singh while coming up with their new slogan and logo, Suzuki Clean Ocean Project, during the Suzuki Clean Ocean Project along Queen Elizabeth Drive.

This was carried out by Suzuki Fiji and Niranjan Autoport Pte Ltd.

After a successful project in Suva this year, Suzuki Fiji has decided to also take its ocean campaign to Nadi and Lautoka, with the shoreline clean up at Wailoaloa Beach on Saturday, April 15th.

Singh says this was to show the world their commitment and effort for environmental protection.

He says as the world’s ultimate outboard motor brand, Suzuki always remains focused on providing the ultimate marine experience whilst promoting a healthy and clean marine environment in the clean-up the world campaign, reduce plastic packaging, and collect marine micro-plastic waste.

He says with the project which started in 2010, 53 distributors and more than 12,000 people globally have participated.

The Manager further says litter as minor as a bottle cap affects the environment therefore, we have to change our thinking and take responsibility for our actions as our attitude has still not changed.

He says as the custodians of the lands and the waterways, the future of the ocean and its greater marine life is in our hands to ensure its security and sustainability.

The Manager says fulfilling its commitment and efforts towards marine conservation, Suzuki Fiji and Niranjan Autoport Pte Ltd believes that protection and ocean conservation is paramount especially for Fiji, being surrounded by water and its immense dependence on marine culture.
