Schoolchildren in Fiji will benefit from a Handwashing Day initiative supported by Ocean Soaps, aimed at promoting personal hygiene and encouraging healthy habits from an early age.
The initiative will include practical handwashing demonstrations and discussions to help students understand how washing their hands with soap and clean water can reduce the spread of germs and common infections.
Punjas Director, Chetan Punja says teaching children good hygiene habits at an early age can encourage positive practices at school, at home and throughout their lives.
He says supporting initiatives that educate and contribute positively to communities is an important part of building a healthier Fiji.
Punja adds that the students will also learn the importance of washing their hands before eating, after using the toilet and after playing outdoors.
Ocean Soaps hopes the initiative will encourage children to share good hygiene practices with their families and communities.
