TotalEngergies celebrate centennial Anniversary

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka acknowledged the contribution of TotalEnergies to Fiji's sustainable energy future and highlighted the importance of solidarity amidst global challenges.

While speaking at TotalEnergies’ 100th Anniversary at the Grand Pacific Hotel, Rabuka says people should take a moment to reflect upon the global challenges of conflict and recent tragedies, such as those in Russia and the Baltimore Bridge collapse.

He says it is important to stand in solidarity with those enduring hardships, even as we celebrate peace and prosperity in Fiji.

Rabuka also commemorated TotalEnergies' remarkable 100-year journey, noting its rich legacy of diversity and inspiration.

The Prime Minister highlighted the country's National Energy Policy launched last year, which focuses on sustainability, inclusivity, reliability, and renewable energy initiatives and says this archaic law needs to be updated.

Rabuka applauded TotalEnergies for their significant contribution towards Fiji's vision of becoming a net-zero nation by 2050 and says in light of these challenges, TotalEnergies has emerged as a pivotal partner in our journey toward achieving the national goal of becoming a net-zero nation by 2050.

He says their commitment to renewable energy aligns seamlessly with the government’s objectives and underscores their dedication to sustainability.

The Prime Minister also extended heartfelt appreciation to TotalEnergies for their continued partnership and congratulated them on reaching the significant milestone.

TotalEnergies was founded in 1924 and has been a key player in the energy sector globally, providing innovative solutions and maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability.
