Virisila Taucilagi

The 35-year-old Virisila Taucilagi, who has been selling food such as lumi, kokoda, kaikoso, breadfruit, and food parcels at the Suva Market for the past year, is expecting to earn more during this festive season.

Taucilagi says she is planning to spend Christmas with her family at their home in Nabua.

Taucilagi says being a market vendor has enabled her to support the education of her three children and improve their standard of living.

She says her husband always supports her in running the business and providing additional food supplies to sell at the market.

The 35-year-old adds that she only sells her produce at the market on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

She says over these three days, she can earn between $300 and $500.

Taucilagi says she is now focusing on buying the school stationary for her children for next year and also make some income for Christmas.

She encourages everyone to utilize the available resources to improve their livelihoods.
