A 47-year-old dalo farmer from Narabale Village in Savusavu will be hoping to make enough sales this week so he can prepare for Christmas and buy school uniforms for his children next year.

Savenaca Raisogo says he brings around 50 bundles of dalo to the Labasa Market every day with each bundle costing $20 each.

Raisogo says this has been a busy week and he hopes to make around $1000 from his sales.

He says from this, he can also get the school supplies for his two children who are in Years 9 and 12.

Raisogo adds he will be banking the rest of the money.

He says farmers like him faced a lot of challenges during the height of COVID-19 in the country as not a lot people were coming to buy their produce.
