Naisevunivai granted immunity, to testify as State witness in Afroz Khan murder case
The murder charge against Semi Naisevunivai has been dropped after he was granted immunity in the Afroz Khan murder case and will now testify as a State witness.

Naisevunivai was jointly charged with Edward Nand and Viliame Vulawalu in relation to Khan’s murder between November 27th and December 12th 2024.

It is alleged that they met Khan, kidnapped him and demanded a $10,000 ransom from his wife and family, which was to be dropped at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

Nand and Vulawalu will take their plea on the amended information and have their trial date fixed on September 18th.

Vulawalu’s bail has been extended, while Nand’s production order has also been extended.

Meanwhile, Nand is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of visiting Fijian national from Canada, Narend Chand, on February 19, 2023.
