For brothers Lui Teraka and Taniela Saukatamani, farming is more than a job, it is a way of creating a better future for themselves and their family.

The two young farmers from Korotasere Village in Cakaudrove, Vanua Levu, are using the skills and discipline they gained at Tutu Training School in Taveuni to grow their farming business.

They say their time at Tutu Training School has taught them more than just agricultural skills as they learned the importance of hard work, commitment, planning and making the most of every opportunity.

Those lessons continue to guide them as they work on their farm back home in Korotasere.

During his recent visit to Vanua Levu, Minister for Agriculture and Waterways Tomasi Tunabuna met the brothers as they returned from another day working on their farm.

Their story reflects the efforts of young Fijians who are turning to agriculture as a business and a way to build a sustainable future.

For Teraka and Saukatamani, the early mornings, long hours and challenges that come with farming, are part of the commitment needed to succeed.

They believe that with knowledge, patience and dedication, the land can provide opportunities for them and future generations.
