England were unable to repeat their impressive attacking display in their second FIFA World Cup Group L match as they were held to a goalless draw by Ghana at Boston Stadium.
The Three Lions knew a win would secure their place in the Round of 32, but they were frustrated by Ghana's strong defence and organisation.
The draw keeps England top of Group L, but they will need to wait until their final match to confirm their place in the Round of 32.
England will face Panama, while Ghana take on Croatia in their final Group L matches on Sunday at 9am.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score in six FIFA World Cups after netting a double in Portugal's 5-0 win over Uzbekistan.
Panama will face Croatia in the next hour, while Colombia will take on DR Congo at 2pm.
