McGregor had not fought since July 2021 when he broke his leg in defeat to Dustin Poirier.
The Irishman suffered a knee injury just one minute and nine seconds into the fight.
McGregor fell to the canvas several times due to the injury as his knee popped.
The referee called off fight.
