Former Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is not the Deputy Leader of the Social Democratic Liberal Party.

SODELPA General Secretary Pio Tabaiwalu said Rabuka has only applied to contest the general elections under the SODELPA banner.

Tabaiwalu is disappointed with an article in one of the dailies today which reported that Rabuka has been appointed SODELPA's Deputy Leader.

SODELPA has also taken the matter to the Media Industry Development Authority.

Tabaiwalu said they are also finalising the candidates for the elections.

He said Ratu Suliano Matanitobua and Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu have also applied to contest for SODELPA.

However the final list of candidates is yet to be confirmed.

SODELPA Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa will announce the final candidates for the September elections soon.
