The number of H1N1 figures continues to rise daily and the Health Ministry is once again reiterating the need to take precautionary measures.

Another 13 cases of H1N1 have been recorded in the last 24 hours.

That takes the total to 65 cases, a big increase from the 19 cases confirmed at the end of last week.

Media liaison officer Iliesa Tora said there were 6 males and 7 females confirmed in the new listing.

He added this week alone, a total of 86 swabs were processed at Mataika House out of which 46 cases were confirmed.

Tora said all the cases that have been confirmed, have responded well to treatment and most have recovered.

Mataika House continues to receive a lot of samples and testing will continue this weekend.

Tora is calling on people with even a running nose, coughs and headaches to see the doctor immediately.

He said people have to understand that these are not normal times and any flu that seems normal could be H1N1.
